David Spakes
Pastor

Pastor Spakes has been a Christian since 1980. He was called to preach in 1988 and received permanent ordination status in 1995. He was called to pastor in 2007 and completed a certificate program at Johnson Bible College in 2010. Click here to view a scrapbook of his spiritual history and ministry activites.

Before starting Spirit and Truth Fellowship, Pastor Spakes worked for seventeen years (and still presently works) for a Knoxville-based software company as a Senior Software Engineer. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 1993 at Tennessee Technological University, graduating Summa Cum Laude In Cursu Honorum.

Randy Henderson
Assistant Pastor

Randy and his wife Rachel were married in our church in 2017 and are both members of the worship team. Randy has served in a leadership position since May 31, 2020 since he was ordained as a Deacon of Media Ministry. He has answered a greater call of the Lord on his life, and on May 29, 2022 began training for the position of Assistant Pastor. Sheila Spakes
Children's Ministry Director

Sheila was called to work in children's ministry as a young woman. She earned an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Child Care from Kaskaskia College in 1995 and has seven years of work experience in Day Care. In 2004, she completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Human Ecology with emphasis on Early Childhood Administration at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.

Sheila has been enthusiastic about Vacation Bible School since she was a teenager, and she frequently volunteered to work in VBS in her home church. After she moved to East Tennessee, she served as Children's Church Director and VBS Director for six years. She prefers the VBS curriculum created by Group Publishing, and twice she has traveled to Colorado to beta-test their VBS programs.

Emmett Goodman
Security Team Lead

On March 14, 2020, some members of the church including Emmett attended an Active Shooter Defense Course for Church Security Teams presented in Knoxville by Protect His House. The next day on Sunday, March 15, Spirit and Truth Fellowship of Knoxville created a security team for the church that is headed by Emmett.
